Time Zones: The Month of Tammuz : Cancer

Time Zones:
The Month of Tammuz : Cancer

Tammuz is one of the three negative months of the year: Tevet, Tammuz and Av. Kabbalah teaches us that the course of history transpires as a result of the cyclical energy processes of the year rather than because of physical events. Therefore, by looking at the time at which each moment in history occurs, we can better understand why it happened.

Tammuz is controlled by the Moon. There are seven plants that the Kabbalistic Astrology is based upon: the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Mars. Each planet controls two signs, except for the Sun, which controls only Leo (Av) and the moon, which controls only Cancer (Tammuz).

Mars controls Aries (fire) and Scorpio (water)
Venus controls Taurus (earth) and Libra (air)
Mercury controls Gemini (air) and Virgo (earth)
Jupiter controls Sagittarius (fire) and Pisces (water)
Saturn controls Capricorn (earth) and Aquarius (air)
Moon controls Cancer (water)
Sun controls Leo (fire)

Because the sun and the moon control one sign each, an unbalanced situation is created in each of these months. This imbalance causes the crab, the symbol for the month of Tammuz, to walk sideways rather than forward and backward. This also gives the month of Tammuz the opening for Cancer to begin, and it is the only month that is named after a disease.

On the seventeenth day of Tammuz, Moses came down form Mount Sinai with the Tablets, bringing to the world the power and energy of immortality. However, the Israelites and the mixed multitude were waited impatiently for Moses to come down from Mount Sinai and built the Golden Calf, the sight of which caused Moses to shatter the Tablets. This moment was marked by a clashing of two energies: the power of immortality and chaos with suffering, depression and death.

Sartan (Eng. Cancer), in Aramaic is made up of two parts: Sar – to remove and clean all the negativity, and Tan – chaos, hatred, animosity and any aspect of negativity. The power of the month of Cancer is to remove any problems or negative situations in our lives that might cause this disease to come to our lives.

According to “The Book of Formation” by Avraham Avinu, the month of Cancer was created by the Hebrew letters Chet (which created Tammuz) and Taf (which created the Moon). The moon is unlike any other celestial body, as it changes its position each day, but remains visible nonetheless. It begins each lunar month as a thin scythe and reaches its fullest brightness on the fifteenth. From the moment that the fifteenth day is over, the light of the moon begins to wane, and this cycle repeats itself each month.

This explains the Cancerian’s high sensitivity. They seem to need more love than other sign. The moon’s waning causes them to feel that there is always something missing, and this leads to depression. The cure for these low moments is caring, sharing, loving, and giving to others. In addition, Cancerians must do their best to let go of the past and see beyond ill feelings and wounds. This is the only way for them to find truly happiness and love.

Cancerians are very domestic people. Their motto is “my house is my fortress,” and they are strongly connecting to family and home. They love history and archaeology – anything that reminds them of the past. They have a sensitive stomach, as this is the body part they hold in the tension and unsolved emotional difficulties.

The misfortune which takes place during these three months is the result of negative cosmic forces. The hazards and pitfalls that many of us encounter can be traced to our having come under the influence of these periods of negative energy. Hence it is wise to be cog-ni-zant of the danger zones and careful to avoid them.

Certain times and places speak strongly of an underlying force responsible for a world of order and beauty. Yet we cannot close our eyes to the pain, violence and chaos hat make their presence so cruelly felt. The problem rests with Di-nim ( ungovernable energy)  Also in the Eastern philosophies during these particular 3 months the yang energies prevail creating much unbalance.

During the months of Tammuz, Av and Tevet, the energy of the Force is such that there is no revelation of the Skekhinah, the feminine force of God, and the appropriate cosmic vessel which insures the manifestation and stability of the force. At such times the dynamic intensity of the force is so severe that no vessel is capable of making contact with, or handling the energy of the force, which thereby manifests as Di-nim(ungovernable energy) in the universe.

The Force might be aptly compared to the energy which enters our homes through the electric wires. Controlled it is of immense value, uncontrolled it can be destructive and downright dangerous. Switch on a light, for example, and you receive a wonderful blessing, but stick you finger in a socket and the same energy provides you with a horrible curse.

The Israelites as well as  metaphysicians understand that Celestrial forces are governed by the activity of man. Thus instead of being pawns in the cosmic scheme. as other ancients had believed, metaphysicians  understand man to be the prime interface between the terrestrial and the celestial forces of the metaphysical domain. Only when the forces are in balance do the heavens declare their majesty and influence.

During Tammuz, Av and Tevet in the absence of the Temple, the energy vessel of the God the Mother, the violence that threatens our planet cannot be halted. Within the framework of Tammuz, Av and Tevet there is very little that the average person can do to influence the cosmic forces. Certain individuals of extraordinary spiritual ability can channel these forces and Kabbalists as well as other belief systems have specific meditations designed to reduce the intensity of the Force during such times and thus make it beneficial. Having accomplished these meditations, the Skekhinah transforms the immense power of the force, thus permitting the Kabbalist to function even in an environment of violence and chaos.

The Force must under go a reduction in order to operate as a viable circuit of energy here on earth. Variations in the revealed energy of the Force influence the beginning of new ventures, inasmuch as the lifeblood of a new venture and its potential success depends on the ability of the force to make itself manifest. During Tammuz, Av and Tevet, the Force is in a state of Kat nut, a decreased level of activity, hence the increased chance that a new venture will have a negative outcome.

Those born within such time zones are those who have been chosen with the challenge of helping generate and share tremendous light force within this plane of physicality…and this is accomplished by a proactive lifestyle via not only by words, but by deeds as well…so one must walk the talk.

Again the roots of most misfortunes can be traced to the cosmic danger zones. Armed with the knowledge of these zones, we can transcend the realm of chance, luck, and indetermination, and bring order, fulfillment and supreme tranquility to our lives

Kabbalistic Astrolgy: Gemini / Sivan 5773

The Sefer Yetzirah (Book of Formation) says, “He crowned the letter Resh and created Mercury in the world and Friday in the year. He crowned the letter Zayin and created Gemini in the world and Sivan in the Year.”

Gemini is ruled by Mercury, which was created by the letter Resh. Resh is an expression of negative energy, energy of lack and poverty (Heb. rash).

Mercury is the communication planet. The word Kochav (Mercury) is built of two parts: Caf-Vav, numerical value 26, the same as the Yud Hei Vav Hei. And Caf-Vet, numerical value 22, the amount of the letters in the Hebrew aleph-bet.

The Zohar relates to the Hebrew letters as explained by Rav Berg in the book The Power of Aleph-bet as tools to reveal spiritual energy and draw the Light of The Creator to the world.

The most important cosmic event that takes place in Sivan is Shavuot (holiday of the weeks). From the Exodus from Egypt (Passover), we go through a cleansing process of 49 days called the Omer, seven weeks in which each day corrects one of the 49 degrees of negativity created in this lifetime and previous ones.

The fiftieth day connects us to Binah, the sefirah that stores the Light, and serves as the reservoir for all the wealth, health and happiness and more – this day is Shavuot.

3,400 thousand years ago, when Kabbalah and the Torah were revealed on Mount Sinai, all the Light that was revealed brought about bila hamavet lanetzach – Immortality. What is the connection between this historic event and our times?

Both Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai and 1,500 after him, the Ari, explain the meaning of this holiday. Rabbi Shimon says that each year, on the holiday of Shavuot we have the opportunity to get life insurance – not the conventional kind, but real insurance, that guarantees a life free of chaos until the end of the lunar year.

Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai says that the holiday of Shavuot enables us to connect to immortality. During the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai, we reached the end of our correction, and were freed from the Angel of Death, from all chaos, and from Satan consciousness. The Light enabled us to achieve complete control of any aspect of our lives.

How can we reconnect each year to this primordial power that was revealed 3,400 years ago? By studying the whole night.

The letter Zayin created the month of Sivan. What is the secret of this letter? When the Creator wanted to create the world, He looked at the Hebrew letters, which are the DNA of our universe, and used them to create the world. The letter Zayin has the numerical value of seven, and the power of the Shabbat, the day the creation of the world was completed, so she has the energy of completeness.

Those two letters together, Resh that created Mercury and Zayin that created Sivan, create the Hebrew word Raz – secret. Now it is all up to us and how much we act upon connecting and activating those powers in our lives.

Gemini is an intellectual air sign. Mercury, which rules Gemini, is the planet of communication, causing any person (including anyone that has some Gemini in his chart) the desire to know.

Curiosity is the key word for Gemini. They bear an innate desire to learn, to gather information and to study for life. A Gemini knows that the more information he has, the more choices he has, and knowledge is power.

Geminis struggle with focus, choice and commitment. Anything requiring consistency or persistence poses a problem. They are known to be Jacks of all trades and masters of none.

Geminis love communication. They make wonderful teachers, lawyers, salesmen, and excel in all areas of the media – radio, T.V., stage, and more. They love freedom-based occupations that involve driving, flying and travel in general. They can be writers, journalists, and often hold more than one job at a time.

Gemini gets along with air and fire signs. Their correction is to focus. To choose one path, one teacher, the true path in life, one partner, not to jump from one subject to the other, that is how a Gemini can become a channel to share with others what they know and understand.

 Shalom Aleichem…

Peace be upon you

Easter and Passover; A Formula for Freedom

Passover photoEaster and Passover; A Formula for Freedom ( Easter Sunday,  March 31, 2013  — Passover / Pesah 15 Nissan 5773 through 22 Nissan 5773 or March 25, 2013 – April 2, 2013 )

The traditional story of Passover tells of slavery, exile, and eventual freedom for the Israelites from the land of EgyptTraditionally, this slavery has been depicted as brutally hard work under slashing whips, with an abundance of blood, sweat, and tears. The ancient Kabbalists, however, brought to light some interesting facts that have largely been overlooked by Rabbis, Priests, and scholars alike.  On a literal level, the, the Passover story tells us that the Israelites were in bondage in Egypt for 400 years. They were slaves and the sons of slaves–captives of the hard-hearted Pharaoh, ruler of Egypt.

Then there came a great leader named Moses. On a mission from god, Moses won freedom for his people. He then led them on a long and arduous journey including that famous detour through the Red Sea. Eventually they arrived at Mount Sinai, and had a date with destiny.

But here’s the interesting part: the Israelites are tasting freedom for the first time in centuries, yet they begin whining and complaining the moment it gets a little hot and dry in the desert. They even beg Moses to take them back to Egypt!

Are we to believe the Israelites actually had it pretty good in Egypt? Was life in the desert worse than slavery in Egypt?

Something isn’t right here. The literal story doesn’t make sense. Why year after year, are we supposed to recount this questionable story at the holiday known as Passover?

        UNRAVELING THE CODE

The entire biblical story is a code. Egypt is a code word for our ego and reactive behavior, so Egypt is a metaphor for humanity’s incessantly reactive, self-seeking nature. Any aspect of our nature that controls us is Egypt.

It’s the oldest master-slave relationship in Creation. And it takes many forms.

We’re imprisoned by the ego-based aspects of our material existence.

We’re held in bondage by our reactive whims and egocentric desires.

We’re enslaved by our reckless impulses.

We’re held captive by our careers, jobs, and shallow relationships.

We’re prisoners to other people’s perceptions of us.

We’re incarcerated by our ego’s need for other people’s acceptance.

We’re hostages to our constant need to outdo and one-up our friends.

Our ego –the Satan*, the negative inclination–is our true taskmaster…the challenger–and the ego is so good at doing its job, most of us don’t even realize we are in bondage.

(*In Kabbalah Satan is pronounced Sa as in sat or Saturn and tawn…“Satan” not Say-tin.)

                                   ACCOUNTABILITY

As long as they were slaves in Egypt, the Jews were not accountable or responsible for their lives. They were victims. If any chaos fell upon them, they did not have to look in the mirror and accept blame, it’s much easier to be a victim (slave) than it is to accept responsibility for life’s problems.

The victim mindset was the real slavery that was occurring in Egypt. The exile of the Jews led to genuine freedom and control over the cosmos, but with freedom and control there comes responsibility–and that was an uncomfortable prospect for the Jews. This is the spiritual significance behind the Jew’s constant complaints and desires to return to Egypt or Ego.

It was much easier and is for many in this time as well to say that events were and are simply “beyond our control.” the reality is that no event is beyond our control but our reactive nature blinds us from this freedom and this responsibility. All of a sudden we are challenged to look into the mirror and blame ourselves for the chaos and hardship that befalls us. But if we can accept this responsibility, we can have the power of freedom and control over the cosmos in the palm of our hand.

                 MORE CODES

The rites and rituals connected to Passover are the cables by which spiritual current reaches our lives.  Let’s examine the inner spiritual significance behind some of the more common concepts of Passover.

Throughout history, the people have been ignorant of these explanations behind the rites and rituals of Passover. Consequently, the proper meditation and intent was lacking when they were carried out. This is why pain and suffering has been the trademark of the Jews for centuries. Each of us should appreciate that we now have Kabbalah to at least explain the actions and the spiritual forces behind them.

     ABSTAINING FROM BREAD

During the Eight Days of Passover, bread is replaced by Matzah. Bread is an all powerful tool in Kabbalah. Bread is a direct link to our internal reactive nature and ego. Just as bread has the power to expand and rise, our ego has the ability to expand and motivate us to rise to great heights in the material world. Matzah is like bread without ego, so that we can free ourselves from the slavery of reactive behavior and rise to great spiritual heights in our life.

                      CHARITY

Charity according to Kabbalah is not dependent upon how much one gives but rather how much one gives of himself, relative to his personal situation. In other words, charity that is given for tax purposes, plaques on a wall, names on a building or honorary dinners are worthless in the spiritual realm. Many people do positive actions out of concern for what other people will say about them. Real charity is when we go outside of our comfort zone and there is a true element of sacrifice. Second, a charitable action must be concealed without any reward or recognition for the ego. The highest form of charity is when a person gives without ever knowing to whom he gave and the recipient does not know who gave to him. These kinds of acts bring genuine blessings to the giver.

                    TEN PLAQUES

Scientists and Kabbalists agree that reality consists of ten dimensions, each of which is expressed in our own spiritual make-up. In other words, our ego and our dark impulses encompass ten grades of negativity. There are 50 gates or levels of negativity. Once a person reaches the 50th gate, he is evil personified. There is no turning back. His opportunity for change and transformation in his present lifetime has vanquished.

The biblical story speaks of Ten Plaques that were unleashed upon Egypt. The ancient Kabbalah explained that this really means that ten blasts of energy were required to wipe out the ten levels of negativity that dwell within our human nature. Once the ten levels are removed, we achieve genuine freedom from the ego and the self.

                       EASTER

Just as Passover offers the opportunity for freedom likewise Easter does as well.  Shortly after the vernal equinox is the mystic death and liberation. The Easter sun which at the vernal equinox commences to soar into the northern heavens after having laid down its life for the earth, we have the cosmic symbol of the verity of resurrection. It is an annual symbol to strengthen our souls in the work of well-doing that we may grow the golden wedding garment required to make us sons and daughters of God in the highest and holiest sense. It is literally true that unless we walk in the light as God is in the light, we are not in fellowship.  Easter Day marks the resurrection and liberation of the Christ Spirit from the lower realms, so that we may also continually look for the dawn of that day which shall permanently free us from the me sheds of matter, from the body of sin and death, together with our brethren in bondage, for no true aspirant would conceive of a liberation that did not include all who were similarly placed.

So essentially we realize that during this time of the year a window of opportunity is offered for all of us to take advantage of in one application or another to free ourselves from the bondage or slavery of our ego, our lower self, the Satan energy or the evil inclination and by doing so Satan’s grip of death is broken and suddenly we find ourselves on equal footing with our opponent. This does not mean that the resister has been destroyed but we have regained our footing on the playing field.

Remember the challenger has no Light of his own so he depends entirely on our reactive behavior to appropriate this means.

Satan’s favorite weapon is time. Satan uses time to separate cause and effect. In other words, if we react and behave negatively, Satan uses time to delay the inevitable consequences. This time delay confuses us. We start thinking that we are actually getting away with our wrongful actions.

Likewise when we stop our reactions and become proactive sharing people, the fulfillment owing to us is also deferred by time. We start believing that good behavior goes unrewarded.

To compound the confusion the next time we react negatively, Satan manipulates time once more and rewards us with the fulfillment that we earned from a prior positive deed. We begin to associate reactive behavior with pleasure. It appears as though selfish behavior generates fulfillment while good behavior produces chaos.

Satan can delay the consequences of our actions for months, years, decades, or even lifetimes. The result? Life appears to be one random, chaotic mess! A brilliant and potent strategy indeed.

So during this time an opportunity is afforded for us to escape the prison of our ego, our fear, and our insecurities. Modern physics tells us that energy never dissipates. The same spiritual energy of freedom returns every year at this time. Time is like a revolving wheel. The freedom that became available over 3,000 years ago in Egypt comes around again on this exact date. Events do not pass us by like a one-way freight train. We move through the wheel of time as it spins, revisiting the same moments each year. The only things that change are the “set decorations” that give us the illusion of a new year and a different life.

I choose to believe for I know all will be well in the long run. One of Satan’s favorite sayings is “I’ll believe it when I see it”’.  It is imperative that we believe for it is our belief that creates Miracles!

In using Qabbalistic Numerology we can interpret the energy vortex of Passover and Easter… an energy which was created in the Universe within the astrological force known as Aries in the time zone of Nissan before the Earth was inhabited and this cosmic energy was created for all humankind to tap into not just a select few or any one particular group.

Purim—Mystical Insights into an Ancient Event

Israeli WomanWhat I would like to address at this time is the most joyous holiday of all Jewish Holidays — Purim.  The reason I have such a great affinity to this particular holiday is the fact that it can bring a complete concept of what joy, tranquility, and contentment can really mean for us.  However this holiday for one has been mistaken and described as a Jewish Holiday which is the first corruption in its nature. Shortly I will point out as to why, Purim was never intended nor should had it been accepted as one relating just to the Jewish people. Furthermore the idea of Purim has turned into a masquerade party and taking such an important and significant event in history and enveloping into the story of masquerade, disguise, and making it that this is what this joyous holiday is all about is a travesty not only of justice to the world but a complete deprivation of adding joy to the exclusiveness of chaos to all peoples of this planet Earth.

To begin on this journey of joy let us begin at the beginning and that is no event whether it be recorded in Torah or other texts, or an event such as Purim which followed the Torah 1000 year later the event of revelation on Mount Sinai over 3,400 years ago in which that event seems to have no roots in Torah which is contrary to the truth because we are not concerned about chronological events or how they evolved from one year to another.  The point that I am making here is that the event of Purim, this important event which has been superficially described as an event which the Jewish people overcame Haman and the people who were destined with their consciousness to destroy all the Jewish people at that time and consequently the joy of the victory of the few Jews over this massive enormous, empire known as the Persian empire at that time is for the Kabbalist –a complete mis-statement and misinterpretation of what the events whether they appear in Torah or where otherwise were intended.  An event from a Kabbalistic point of view such as Purim is merely an indication that for the very first time the event of victory was indeed the taking advantage and tapping into those sources of the energy of the light force of God by which the event could take place. So the joy of this holiday is not the event that eventually and ultimately evolved at that point in time from Mordechai and Esther, but rather this event and the possibility of it becoming an event have long existed at the time of Creation.

The celestial bodies that rule over the month of Pisces in which this event took place, namely the planet Jupiter, Zedek in Hebrew, and Dagem, the astrological sign of Pisces which were created at the time of creation long before the event of Purim. Long before there was a Jew living on the face of this earth — but going right back to the time before Adam even appeared for the first time that this event was already potentially locked into creation.

No event in history whether it be in Torah or otherwise did not evolve or emerge as a direct result of some physical miracle that might have taken place at that time, but rather that that physical miracle in this particular case of Purim which was the result of Mordecai and Esther overcoming the hordes of Haman and the eminent death to all Jews. This event to potentially bring about this kind of victory had long ago been there in a potential state and therefore what we are witnessing and what we observe during this month of Pisces is only the revelation of the power that could bring this event about, The Good Over Evil, the masses of evil not necessarily overcoming the few who represented the aspect of good. What Mordecai and Esther were all about is already concealed in that very book of the description of the event of Purim.

That book that provides us with the information on the historical event that took place some 2400 years ago is called Esther. Now we assume incorrectly unfortunately that the reason this book is referred to as Esther is because she was the significant character in the production of this event and nothing could be furthest from the truth.  The book is called Esther because it originates and is a derivation of the word satarah which means concealed, hidden, and non-observable. Yes, the name of the heroine is Esther, but why was she called Esther when in fact she had another name, (her Jewish name was Hadassah) but she was also called Esther. Not only to bring to the attention of all of the Jews but to all of mankind that if we are to overcome evil in whatever form it takes it will require not the powerful and might of physical force, but rather the invisible, the immaterial, the nonphysical powers that are available. Unfortunately they are not available when we seek it or when we would like to have it, but rather when they are available to tap into and take advantage of this awesome energy that can bring the dominion of good and right over the evil.  When that opportunity presents itself as it did in the month of Pisces, and in that month Mordecai and Esther grabbed this opportunity to tap into this kind of energy and that when you have securely tighten that energy into the life of mankind on this planet then you can be assured that good will prevail.

That good will have dominion for all of mankind and not merely for the Jews. This book of Esther from a Kabbalistic point of view, which is the significant aspect of Purim which includes so many of the concealed bridges, so many of those abstruse connections by which not only the Jews but all of mankind can have the opportunity.  This opportunity comes only once a year and in fact it comes only during this month of Pisces and it only is available from the 11th day of this month of Pisces to the 15th day.

The fundamental thought in creation was lay-teive, was to endow this entire Universe with the beneficence of the Light Force of God. Yet as many critics have stated nothing could appear to be the furthest from the truth for if we are merely to examine the events since the sin of Adam over these past 6000 years chaos is the rule of the day as opposed to those very infrequent days or months or even years that we can honestly and truthfully remark that this has truly been a time without Chaos. History teaches us over and over and over again that mankind lives in chaos and is so far removed from the beneficence of the light force of God which should shower and embrace us with contentment, with good fortune, with joy.

Furthermore this event of Purim was merely a guide to indicate when this kind of energy is available for mankind to tap into, the event is insignificant it merely pointed up to the idea that when individuals like Mordecai and Esther became enlightened with the idea that within these five days, within this framework of time, mankind could tap into an awesome energy in which to create events of this nature, the events of Purim to occur in our daily lives no only during this month of Pisces but rather take place in every month of the year. So Purim is not once a year, but what is lonely once a year is when, when does this kind of awesome energy that can produce an event like Purim in which good has dominion over evil, in which the minority can overcome the majority of their enemies.  Again this energy is only available 5 days, 5 days in the month of Pisces/Adar.

During Purim there is a particular light force that presents itself, that light like a star shines at a given and particular time like your news program it’s not available at the time you need it or when you want it there is a Calendar of Events and so being prepared and being aware that these events and the cosmic Energy Force of the Light Force of God is available it behooves not only the Jews but all of mankind to take advantage of this opportunity.

Now for those of us who say well I didn’t know, the Kabbalists answer is, “Ignorance of the Law is still no excuse” The fact that you did not comprehend the secret of Purim, the fact that you could not eliminate chaos in your life because you did not know is not a reason that chaos will no longer exist in your life. One may question why this secret was well-kept.  While the word Esther means concealment secret, — why wasn’t that revealed so that all of mankind could tap into that kind of energy that is available so that we may undergo a complete transformation of observing evil as the dominant and prevailing factor and force over all of mankind.

For the non-Jew, this is an event that happened to the Jewish people, they were the ones evolved! Yes, the Jews were entrusted with this information beginning with Abraham in the Book of Formation which is the oldest document available to mankind today. Purim is not an event of tradition, Purim is another opportunity for mankind to exercise his/her freewill and his longing for the removal of chaos from his or her life, to draw and tap into those forces and only those forces that are of a non-material none physical nature, that can assist us and support us in this ultimate drive, the ultimate aim, of creation by the creator God so that we have the opportunities each and every single day to avail ourselves of that awesome light force that we can only tap into during these 5 days.  Once we have acquired that type of energy then we have the opportunity to make that energy work for us each and every single day of the year until the next year rolls around again.

The idea of masquerades, just look at how the energies of Satan the challenger, feature the factors that operate in our world so as to fester and expand the confusion and chaos that envelopes all of us, how this whole idea of concealment turns into a masquerade, why so that we become completely diverted away from the truth, away from the essence of what this holiday and event is all about. So now it is turned into a masquerade party, As long says Satan as you people don’t reach out and grasp the truth I am perfectly happy to permit you to have at least once a year this beautiful masquerade party which after the party is over all is finally forgotten and certainly our personal lives have in no way been enhanced, we are back to the same chaos that existed one moment before the event and one moment after the event. That is how Satan operates, not only in so far as Purim is concerned, but in the way every event is concerned.

Every Kabbalists motto is “what does it do for me today?”  How do I benefit now from the observance of this holiday, for the indulgence in this holiday, what does it do for me, how does it enhance my life?  This power that we speak about on Purim that enabled Mordecai and Esther and a handful of Jews that overcame this vast Persian Empire was for the first item revealed as an energy that was created at the time of on the fourth day of Creation when the celestial bodies were placed into the heavens and in this month of Pisces already established was these four beautiful days by which we could and should tap that kind of energy, not just the Jews for there were no Jews at the time of Creation but all of mankind to take advantage of the flow into the cosmos and subsequently to all of mankind, those who know how to make that connection.

So Purim and Kabbalah is about is the opportunity whatever emerged and evolved as part of the ritual is certainly not ritual, they are the tools and the methodology by which not only the Jews but all of mankind equipped with this weaponry against the forces of evil and chaos, all of mankind can draw to themselves using this methodology.

What is this methodology that we can tap into this awesome energy .When we read Megilat Esther and the literal translation is not the book of Esther, this is a corruption. Megilat, the root and source of that word reads and means the Revelation of Esther, of the Secrets.

The meaning of Megilat Esther according to Kabbalah

It was seventy years after the destruction of the first temple and the time had come to begin building the second temple. The Light of Redemption was beginning to reveal itself.  But the people were not ready.  When this occurs it is a stage called dormita.  The state of dormita happens when Zeir Anpin leaves Malchut just as during sleep when the soul leaves the bod.  In Aramaic dormita means asleep.

According to the Ari when Haman first approached King Ahasverus to ask his permission to kill all the Jews, the king spurned the idea “don’t you know that whoever attempted to hurt the Jews was destroyed.”  Haman who was a great astrologer and warlock explained to the King that although the God of the Jews is powerful he was asleep thereby leaving the Jews unprotected.  The Jews could be destroyed before the Light awakes.

Haman was the tenth generation descendant of Agag the lst King of Amalek. When King Saul was anointed the first King of Israel, one of his first responsibilities as King was to destroy the nation of Amalek. His fatal failure was that he allowed King Agag to live for a day before he killed him. In that last day before his death King Agaf impregnated a woman who ultimately continued the seed of Amalek. Haman was the continuation of Amalek – he was the reincarnated soul of King Agag. That is why it is written in the Megilah, “Haman ha’ Agaggi, the Agaite because he was really King Agag.  Mordechai was the reincarnation of King Saul.

According to Kabbalistic wisdom the nation of Amalek represents doubt. The whole story of Purim therefore is really the story of the battle and defeat of our own doubt.

Prior to publishing the final decree against the Jews, Haman consulted with the stars. He wanted the right time for the destruction where there would be the greatest darkness so the Jews would be unable to resist and be lead to destruction like sheep to the slaughter.  The day he decided upon was 13 Adar. Haman made his discovery on 13 Nissan which according to Kabbalists is astrologically the day when the destiny of battles and conflicts are being finalized for the coming year.

On 13 Nissan Haman published the decree that went out to all the 127 states of the Persian Empire that all Jews were to be killed on 13 Adar of the coming year. When Mordechai discovered this he began to mourn and asked Esther to approach the King, her husband to change this decree.  Esther and Mordechai both were Kabbalists.  Esther knew that she could not affect such a change to cancel the decree in the 1% — unless there was change in the 99% — the cause.  The decree came at the time of dormita, the separation between Zeir Anpin and Malchut. Additionally at this time there is an immense outpouring of the Light of Wisdom in the Universe. When the Light of Wisdom is revealing itself – the vessel is not ready that lack of unity manifests in disaster.  The only way to eliminate the potential danger is to create enough Light of Mercy that it – the Light of Mercy – becomes the vessel to contain the Light of Wisdom and allow it to be revealed.

Esther instructed Mordechai to assemble the Jews and request they fast for 72 hours in addition to sharing with each other and giving charity. The purpose of the fast was to shut down the desire to receive for the self alone and fasting can create a tremendous energy surge. The acts of charity and sharing awaken the energy of the Light of Mercy.

Haman assembled the Jews and instructed them on how to effectively use the 72 names of God to connect to the Light. Each person gave an abundance of charity and as many gifts to one another as feasible to activate the Light of Mercy. These 72 hours took place during Pesach (Passover), which is actually the real time that the cosmic seal regarding wars and conflicts was finalized for the entire year. Haman’s calculations were incorrect for it was not finalized on 13 Nissan.

The unified actions of the Jews were so powerful that it woke up the energy of Zeir Anpin and connect with Malchut, the Kingdom – our world.

Haman had 365 advisors to connect 365 levels of negativity. Haman knew that as long as Mordechai was alive there was uncertainty in his plan to destroy the Jews.  The Ari explains that Mordechai represented pure light, like a pilot light that will exist in the universe even in the darkest times. Haman wanted to eliminate him so that there will be no chance for redemption.  The fifty cubit gallows that Haman wanted Mordechai to hang from represented the fifty gates of impurity. Although he wasted no time in his attempt to destroy Mordechai, the Megalith informs us that it was too late because that night the King could not sleep. King Ahasverus represents Zeir Anpin. As a result of the actions of the Jews, Zeir Anpin was awake. As the spiritual saying goes, “As above so it is below.”

The sequence of the Hebrew letters Caf Hei Taf destroyed Haman who was bent on massacring the Jewish race. He and his ten sons went to great lengths to exterminate the Jews.  However Mordechai and Esther used the power of the 72 names of God to destroy Haman and his sons. The Scroll of Esther is a DNA code of humanity. Where the scroll mentions the actual names of Haman’s ten sons, three Hebrew letters must be written very small and interspersed within the ten names. These three letters spell out the year 1948. In 1948 ten Nazis were hanged at the Nuremberg Trials. Haman’s ten sons were hanged as well according to history. The Kabbalist would surmise that Haman and Adolph Hitler were the same soul and Haman’s ten sons were Hitler’s ten henchmen who were hanged at Nuremberg were of the same evil source. Nazi Julius Streicher shouted the following words to the world’s media just before he was sent to the gallows: “Purim Fest 1948!” It is interesting that Hitler’s reign of terror ended in April of 1945 during Pesach.

Exactly a year after the miracle of Purim, the sages of that time realized that on the 14th and 15th of Adar the same energy that was revealed on Purim had appeared again – this energy was now impressed on the universe and can never be erased.  In order for us to connect to this power on Purim we follow a simple formula – we read from the Megilah, we donate to charity, share gifts with one another and we feast.  Let us resolve as we enter this energy of Purim, to place in our consciousness the determination that we will indeed bring about long sought after goals of humanity by fulfilling all the requirements utilizing the incredible and significant energy source of Purim. This energy vortex is a grand opportunity to bring mercy, forgiveness, protection, and joy into your life!

Pisces 2013 / Adar 5773

Pisces Yahwehs New KingdomPisces 2013 / Adar 5773

Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac. It closes the karmic Tikune cycle, which is the final correction. It is said that anyone born as under this sign has the opportunity, with the right consciousness, to finish his Tikkun completely, not to die and reincarnate, but to achieve immortal life. The Book of Formation says “…He enthroned the letter Gimmel and created a crown to it and created with it the Tzedek in the world…” Tzedek, or Jupiter, rules the signs of Pisces and Sagittarius. The internal energy of Jupiter is wisdom, peace, mercy, justice, humbleness and good deeds. Pisceans and Sagittarians enjoy success in any business, profit and wealth, hope, happiness, marriage and more.. The Book of Formation relates to Jupiter all the positive characters that bring us success in anything we do. This explains why the months over which Jupiter rules contain openings for miracles and wonders in our life.

Pisces completes the astrological cycle that begins with Aries. It is Central Column of the water signs, and is controlled by two planets, Jupiter and Neptune.

Jupiter controls two signs: Pisces and Sagittarius. These two months, Adar and Kislev, are characterized by the tremendous miracles that took place because of the energy of Jupiter. Sagittarius marks the miracles of Chanukah. Adar coined the miracle of Purim, created by Esther, Mordechai, and the unity between the Jews in Shushan, Persia. This “togetherness” and mass effort of unconditional sharing caused the miracle that prevented the total extermination of the Jews in Persia, under Achashverosh’s rule.

Jupiter is the planet of success, miracles, expansion of the metaphysical vessel and our extension of our spiritual ability.

The second planet that rules Pisces, Neptune, was discovered only in the 19th century as the planet to rule the abstract; the planet itself has no boundaries or limitations, as it is surrounded by gas. It controls intuition, imagination, creativity and art. It provides us with the ability to see and understand beyond our five senses.

The combination of these two planets gives Pisces a very powerful emotional ability. They are remarkably sensitive and vulnerable with the strongest intuition of any sign. They are very deep people, whether it comes to opinion, thought, or inspiration. Pisceans have an uncanny talent for sensitivity toward others, for they can truly enter a person’s heart and mind and experience the pain and suffering of others.

The letter Kuf created Pisces. Kuf’s distinguishing characteristic is that it is the only Hebrew letter that dips below the line of writing. Kabbalah explains that it is therefore able to remove light from the Klipah, the negative side, removing its control over our lives. The Zohar explains that the Kuf is in two worlds, the good and the bad, life and death. Happiness it the only thing that activates the energy of Purim so we can remove all chaos, depression and sadness from our lives, leaving only joy and fulfillment. The 7th day of Adar is the birth and death anniversary of Moses. Moses was the great leader that took the Israelites out of Egypt, and led them in desert for forty years. Moses was the one who spoke to God face to face, who gave the world the famed Tablets engraved with the codes and laws of our universe. On this day we celebrate his anniversary by learning and reading from the Zohar, which helps us to elevate our consciousness to a higher one. The Torah describes the death of Moses, but Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai says in the Zohar that Moses didn’t die, and that he is with us in each generation. The Zohar also speaks about two potential Messiahs – Ben David and Ben Yosef. Moses is the third Messiah, the one that will bring the final correction.

The symbol of Pisces is two fish swimming in opposite directions, one swimming with the stream, one against the stream. Pisces are usually very quiet people. They are sensitive, vulnerable, very intuitive, and are great listeners. They absorb the other person’s problems like a sponge. That is the reason they have the tendency to be overweight; they easily retain the liquid that the body consumes. Pisces has a great ability to penetrate the deepest of spiritual studies. Physics, chemistry, philosophy and psychology are second nature to Pisceans. Their ability to understand others, to concede and forgive, to support without jealousy, to be mild tempered, and to give and love unconditionally – abilities we should all strive for. The other side of the Pisces’ coin is a tremendous sense of victimization , capacity to be abused, and tendency toward addictions. A weak Pisces is prone to self-pity and too often, God forbid, suicide. A Pisces, one who swims against the stream, can be a very powerful spiritual leader, like Moses. It is well within the Pisces reach to achieve leadership with humility, care, and love.
Pisces are artistic by nature, and love music, art, theater, and fashion. Because of their ability to act, they also make super scientists, teachers, and politicians. Their love for water and the sea is innate. They have the metaphysical ability predict the future, and they can often be psychic and clairvoyant.

Adar is known for the holiday of Purim. According to the sages, it will be the only holiday that will continue to be celebrated throughout the world after the Messiah comes. “When Adar begins, joy enters,” as the famous Hebraic phrase goes. It is a month of happiness, miracles and wonders. It affords us the ability to achieve mind over matter, to overcome our doubts and connect to the Light.

2014 is a leap year on the lunar calendar, meaning a year that has two Adars. This incidence creates a balance between the lunar calendar and the solar one, because there is a different of about ten days each year, and since the holiday must fall at the right time (i.e. Passover in the spring.) there is a need to add one month seven times in the period of nineteen years, and in that year Purim is celebrated on the second Adar.

Adar is the only month that repeats itself in a single calendar year. Because of the difference between the lunar and the solar year, the sages add an extra Hebrew month to the lunar year in order to balance the two. This instance occurs randomly 7 times every 19 years. When we experience two months of Adar, we are given an extra dose of that powerful energy. Adar is the last of the feminine months and is the sixth month since Libra and the Jewish New Year. Six represents Yesod, the luminous emanation that transfers energy to Malchut (our realm), so Adar gives us even more potential to become channels for others.

The Jewish Calendar is Luni-Solar in contrast to our Civil Calendar which is purely solar. Because of this a person may be one astrological sign according to Conventional Astrology and another according Kabbalistic Astrology.  Kabbalah offers one of the oldest and wisest applications of astronomy and astrology known to humankind. The probing of the planets and the study of stars is a true science through which we can understand and satisfy our own deepest needs and the needs of others. Kabbalistic astrology does not insist that everything we do is determined by the heavens but that we are each born at the precise instant that is best suited to our special needs so we can exercise our free will. Kabbalah teaches we have many possible futures and that we can indeed, through true spiritual wisdom become captains of our own ship and masters of our destiny.

And You Thought Scorpio Was Just The Sex Sign

And you thought Scorpio was just the sex sign!

Enter the sign of Scorpio and Eros. According to astrologer Richard I demon, the seduction of Eros occurs: “when two or more separate entities combine in such a way that they are totally transformed by the experience.” Scorpio and Eros are often typically associated with sex and sexuality. However, we are reminded that (unfortunately) not all sexuality is truly “erotic….” Not all experiences of our sexuality are truly transformative. And eroticism (contrary to popular belief) does not necessarily involve sexual union with another person…

Death of Ego
Eros always involves death of the ego, emotional merging, and shared transformation with another entity. For example – the passion of Eros can take place between the artist and the erotic object of her/his art.” Likewise, the emotional catharsis we experience in a crowded movie theater full of strangers will most likely be more truly erotic and intimate than a meaningless “jump in the hay” with a total stranger. Shocking thought, isn’t it.

Souls and Psyches
In The Love Journey of the Zodiac, Scorpionic Eros desires much more than the mere physical merging of bodies (that’s Taurus). Eros desires to merge souls and psyches. For erotic Scorpio, sex is not only for purposes of self-pleasuring. The erotic connection for Scorpio involves finding ways to give the other entity pleasure. The energy of Scorpio is inspired and stimulated by arousing, awakening, and transforming someone (or something) other than the self….

Taurus/Scorpio
Archetypically, Taurean epithemia love is interested specifically in the lusty merging of bodies. Epithemia is sex for self-pleasure’s sake. Taurus might sometimes forget the other person’s there – but Scorpio never does… Eros is associated with Scorpio and Pluto, and with the passionate watery quality of love. This is a passionate love which involves pain and suffering.

Pain, Risk and Suffering
Eros implies that all love involves pain and risk. There’s a suffering quality to Eros, simply because we know that wonderful moment of ecstasy – that moment of psychically joining and merging – cannot possibly last forever.

Death:  Risk is present in Eros, because the merging of souls involves a death of the individual’s ego which may or may not result in rebirth and transformation with “the beloved.” There are no guarantees in Eros. But in order for something new to be born – something must die… Eros is contains an ecstatic kind of feeling, a feeling nearing the level of religious ecstasy and catharsis. And the erotic experience rightly belongs to the realm of the religious, the mystical, and the creative. It’s an intensely powerful feeling that can be quite overwhelming.

Eros Refused?
If, on the other hand, Eros is refused – not honored or given life – Eros and the god Pluto (Hades) who rules Scorpio then becomes the uninvited god. And Pluto has a nasty way of dragging you down to the underworld, where there is no life – into the land of the living dead. Then – that same passionate intensity which accompanied us into the heights of erotic love – accompanies us into the depths of the underworld….”Eros is the world’s greatest teacher….”Plato

But Eros is not the final destination on our journey of love…. The final stop on our journey through the Zodiac is with the sign of Aquarius and agape.

Mar Heshvan – Scorpio : Kabbalistic Astrology

Mar Heshvan – Scorpio : Kabbalistic Astrology

The month of Scorpio is a Left column water sign and is ruled by Mars and PlutoWater signs are very emotional, but Scorpions are extremely irrational when their emotions are involved. They are excessive and go to extremes, both in positive and negative respects. In the world of Scorpio there is only black and white. For example if you are not their friend, you are their nemesis and you will with certainty be treated as such.

Mars which rules the month of Scorpio is the Greek God of War. Scorpions are like gladiators they will eliminate their nemesis at any cost with no concern of who they bloody in their path. Scorpio’s love power and control. They do not waver, they do not falter, and will stay the course with absolute determination which can result in unnecessary force.

Pluto rules life and death in addition to the power and energy of the seed, which manifests as new life, rebirth. Scorpio rules the genitalia and makes them very sexual by nature. They seek to engage in sexual activity at almost any cost with much power and fervor often resulting in damage to their reproductive and sexual organs leading to STD’s, impotency, infertility, and cancer.

Scorpio is a fixed sign which means they dislike change and fear losing control. They are not flexible and it is generally their way or the highway. In the world of Scorpio it is created of extremes. If they love someone and the feelings are not mutual, this love can quickly turn into hate. It is extremely difficult for Scorpios to forgive as well as forget. If you betray a Scorpio they will not rest until they get their revenge even to the point of creating your demise. The karma (Tikkun : Correction) of Scorpions to channel their energy to the Central column to they can live, love, and let go.

On a positive note, Scorpios are great business people. They love money for they equate it with power. They can be great politicians, doctors, physiologist, astrologers, and financiers. Metaphysically they are powerful with strong mystical powers and knowing.

However if they choose the wrong path they can be the most ruthless members of the mafia or gangs.

Mar Heshvan in Hebrew means bitter Heshvan, but it can be transformed into Ram Heshvan (elevated Heshvan). The Scorpio is the only creature that can sting itself to death, however in an elevated form they can soar like an Eagle. I takes much conscious effort and self control to make this transformation, but for those who do they make the world a much better place.

The Flood of Noah‘s day took place in the month of Mar Heshvan and this was not by coincidence. The world had become so corrupt at that time that God saw no alternative to destroying this world of wickedness. Please note that “world” is not the same as “earth”. Scorpio is an energy of excesses and naturally this type of energy would be more than suitable for a great deluge. During the month of Scorpio it is good to focus on destructive patterns and transmute them into positive ones. Let go of ill feelings we harbor and grudges that we cling to.

I want to end this on a positive for all Scorpios for I do have immediate family members born in this energy and I love them whether they be good, bad, or indifferent. According to Hindu astrology, The Scorpio people are allied to the great powers of the ocean of this planet. This is the middle sign of the Water Triplicity. Scorpio people are wonderfully strong, as the planetary and solar forces which surge through them constantly, give them great magnetism and vitality. Any person born in this sign has great possibilities, so we earnestly urge them to realize their greatness. Many a sage and wise men and women are born in this sign, and they have set down many rules which, if followed, will lead the Scorpio person to the greatest success. The most helpful men and women come out of this sign; and the world can rejoice every time a Scorpio person is born. Oh, you blessed people, what strength and power for success and happiness you have! You are the salt of the earth.

Elul / Virgo: Kabbalistic Astrology

The Book of Formation tells us, “He appointed the letter resh and crowned it and created with it Mercury in the world…He appointed the letter yud and crowned it and created with it Virgo in the universe and Elul in the year.”

The expression “and crowned it” (in Hebrew, kashar lo keter) indicates to us that the Hebrew letters are the seed and the root of Mercury and the sign that stems from it, because it is the channel connecting it to the Sefirah of Keter.

According to Kabbalistic tradition, the month of Elul is known as the month of Teshuvah, the month of repentance. It is the final month of the lunar year, and this is the reason that when we reach the end of the year, the time comes to check ‘the books’, to take into account our lives (like the banks do on December 31), and not only with our internal accounts – how much money is earned or spent, but also to check our relationships and behaviors between each other.

The month that follows it, Tishrei/Libra, is the beginning of the lunar new year. On the first of Tishrei all of humanity is judged, regardless of whether you identify yourself as a Jew, Christian, Muslim or any other religion. All of humanity is judged by their actions. Our actions are weighed on a cosmic scale (the month of Libra is symbolized by scales) and the decision is made in the upper courts as to the quality of life for each human being on earth. This is the reason that when we enter the month of Elul, the month that concludes the year, there is still time to change our destiny in the cosmos by transforming our consciousness and our behavior toward others.

The idea of “repentance is not simply to ask for forgiveness, “oh, I’m sorry.” Its easy to say you’re sorry and tomorrow to return to your old ways of hurting people. The Kabbalistic idea of repentance has to do with the four letters of the Tetragrammaton: yud, Hei, vav, and Hei. They represent four energetic levels revealed in the universe – Chochmah, Binah, Zeir Anpin, and Malchut.

The Sefirah of Malchut is our physical world, the world of correction, the imperfect world in which all chaos war, tragedy, illness, accident and moment of suffering comes from. The Sefirah of Zeir Anpin is the world of perfection.

Our work this month is to cleanse the negativity, hatred, jealousy, lack and pain that is the world of Malchut, the final Sefirah of the Tetragrammaton, and when we do the world truly and wholly, we connect the Malchut and return it to Zeir Anpin, to create a continuous flow of energy between the two.

The three first letters connect automatically to the Tree of Life. Because of the short circuits we create, we have disconnected from the Tree of Life, and must use the technology of repentance to return to the Light, to the beginning, when we were connected to the Tree of Life.

We do not need to be superheroes to remove chaos from the world. We must only reveal and seek out Light. The internal quality of Virgo is purity, newness and originality. A ‘virginal’ thing is something that has not undergone change or influence, but has remained in its original status and form. Abraham the Patriarch chose to call this month’s sign by the name of Virgo to indicate the Light that it makes available to the entire universe, therefore eluding to the internal quality of this sign, and its power to connect to the Light and reveal it in this world, perfectly.

Virgo is central column of the earth signs. Mercury controls it. Mercury is the planet that also controls Gemini – an air sign.

Mercury works on Virgo in a practical, useful, systematic way. Virgos are difficult people, critical, judging everyone and everything, and nothing is good enough for them because nothing is ever perfect.

Only when we understand the Kabbalistic calendar and that Virgo is the final month of the year, we understand their urgency to complete things, to do everything right the first time, and why they cannot begin another task until the first is accomplished.

Virgos are hard-working, like ants, dotting their ‘it’s and crossing their ‘it’s, until success is achieved.

The sign of Virgo controls the digestive system. This is also connected to Mercury, because when food enters the body, it must nourish every cell. When there we encounter spiritual blockages, it is because we experience a lack of desire or consciousness to accept new ideas and move forward.

Virgos make excellent doctors and nurses, psychologists, caretakers, accountants, artists, and engineers. So what must the Virgo contribute to the world? They have a gift for service of every possible nature. To do work backstage and to feel concern for serving anyone in need of advice, guidance, wisdom, experience, love and care.
